- Marianne Black, B.A.
Marianne has lived in Shanghai since August 2004 and has been in Asia
since 2001. Marianne trained as a lawyer in the UK and is qualified to
practise in England & Wales and Hong Kong. She now manages the
China offices of a British law firm which involves training,
development, recruitment, business development and strategy. Marianne
has been involving in some type of volunteering for a number of years.
She has worked in Calcutta (India) doing relief work and teaching, in
Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) doing fund raising for a British educational
charity and in Hong Kong providing free legal advice to domestic
helpers. She also manages the China pro bono projects for her current
employer.
- Bonnie Wisnewski, B.S.
Bonnie is originally from New York State. She received her bachelors of
science in gerontology from the University of Bridgeport in
Connecticut. She and her husband first arrived in Shanghai in 1982 for
a two-year assignment and returned to Shanghai for their present
assignment in 1996. She has also lived in Brazil and Hong Kong. Since
arriving in Shanghai Bonnie has volunteered extensively at the Shanghai
American School. She started the Art Ambassador Program in 1997, was a
Girl Scout leader, and worked on various educational, research and
fundraising committees at SAS. Bonnie was elected to the SAS school
board in May of 2000, where she served as Secretary for three years and
Board Chair for her last year. She is also involved with Shanghai
Sunrise, a charity providing educational sponsorships for disadvantaged
children.
- Kendra DiPaola, B.S., M.B.A.
Kendra, an American who has resided in Shanghai since August 2004,
brings professional management practices to not-for-profit
organizations, including LifeLine Shanghai. She earned an M.B.A. with a
concentration in public and nonprofit management at Boston University.
She has performed benchmarking studies, developed business, marketing,
and program plans for the U.S.-based not-for-profit organizations The
Conservation Law Foundation, an environmental advocate, and The Center
for Women and Enterprise, an organization which helps women start and
run businesses. Her volunteer experience as an advocate for battered
women steered her into the nonprofit sector. Prior to her nonprofit
days, Kendra worked for GE (General Electric), The Analytic Sciences
Corporation, and Kemper Group doing proposal writing, contract
negotiation and administration, procurement, and insurance underwriting.
- Debi Yohn, Ph.D.
Dr. Debi Yohn is originally from Miami, Florida. She has a Bachelors
degree in Psychology, Masters degree in Clinical Social Work and a
Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. She maintains a current clinical
license from the State of Florida. Debi arrived in Shanghai in January,
2000. She became involved in the Shanghai expatriate community due to
the mental health needs of the individuals, the schools and the medical
facilities. Debi's background covers over 25 years of individual,
family and couples counseling as a direct care provider and as a
Clinical Director of Magellan Behavioral Health, the largest behavioral
health provider of mental health services in the U.S. She was also the
Clinical Director of Corporate Health International that provided
Employee Assistance Programs to large corporations worldwide. Her
experience includes direct service, supervision of clinicians, and
corporate leadership of mental health services. Dr. Yohn is a Founding
Mother of LifeLine Shanghai. She was on the ground floor of identifying
the need for a helpline, the search for the support in the Shanghai
community, and the formation of what LifeLine Shanghai is today.
- Elizabeth Wong
Ms. Wong has been the Director of Operations for World Link Medical and
Dental Services since its inception, with responsibility for
facilitating daily workflow, recruiting and monitoring all clinical
staff, maintaining the quality of diagnostic services performed on- and
off-site, and monitoring medical purchases. Born in Hong Kong, she is
an expert in the field of microbiology and has more than 29 years of
diagnostic experience working in laboratories at medical institutions
in Canada, including the Ottawa General Hospital and the Canadian
Medical Laboratories.
- Tiffany Wandy (Executive Director and Ex Officio Board Member)
- Tiffany was born and raised in Connecticut in the United States. She
attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received a dual
degree with honors in Economics and Russian Studies. She has traveled
extensively, both abroad and in the US, and speaks Spanish, Russian,
and Polish. During college she studied abroad and directly enrolled at
the Saint Petersburg State Technical University. Tiffany’s background
is diverse, and includes everything from managing a bar/restaurant in
Russia to training horses professionally, both at home and abroad. Her
experience includes canvassing, PR, and fundraising for the Connecticut
Public Interest Group, a non-profit organization that advocates
environmental initiatives and consumer rights.
- Allan McDean
- An
Australian citizen, Allan has been a resident of Shanghai since April
1995. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Newcastle , Allan then started a 20-year career with the
international group, Sandvik, headquartered in Sweden . In the course
of his career, Allan progressed into senior management roles within the
group, with one of these roles bringing him to China in 1995 as the
Technical Manager for Asia . He has participated in and led numerous
training courses over the years including: Sales and Marketing
Development and Strategies, Management Problem Solving, Personal
Development and Decision Making Programs, International Management
Training, and Leadership Skills. For the last five years, Allan has
held the position of General Manager of the Shanghai office for one of
Australia’s leading manufacturing groups, CSR Limited. Allan has
participated in volunteer work previously in roles with organizations
such as the Buddy Support Program, Home Care Volunteer Program, and a
visitor roster program for Mt. Olivet Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.
Having traveled extensively over the years, Allan now calls Shanghai
home.
- Cheng-Yi Tong
- Cheng-Yi
is originally from Malaysia and has lived in Shanghai since 2003. She
has been an expatriate for most of her adult life, having lived and
worked in Toronto , New York , Hong Kong, and Tokyo . Prior to moving
to Shanghai , she was a structured debt investment banker at Morgan
Stanley. Cheng-Yi has participated in various programmes and non-profit
organisations involved in the arts and community service. She holds an
honors bachelors degree in business administration from the University
of Western Ontario, Canada.
- James Stanbridge
- James
Stanbridge was born in 1964 in Hertfordshire, England and is
Microsoft’s Director of Operations in the Global Foundation Services
group in ASIA. He lives in Shanghai and is married to Linda and has a
baby daughter Molly. James moved to China in 2005 to take the lead in
building service platforms in ASIA for Microsoft Corp with teams in
China, Japan and India. He joined Microsoft in 2001 as Director of
Technical Operations in London for online services (hotmail, MSN,
Messenger etc). James is an Executive coach in the 'Excelerrate'
program at Fudan University and is a formal mentor to young leaders
inside and outside Microsoft
