Anyone can call Lifeline Shanghai
Our helpline offers an emotional support service that respects everyone's right to be heard, understood, and cared for. We also provide information about other support services that are available in Shanghai and Mainland China. People call about many things and the needs of callers may vary across genders and age groups and between rural and metropolitan areas.
Lifeline Shanghai Telephone Volunteers are ready to talk and listen, no matter how big or small the problem may seem. They are trained to offer emotional support in times of crisis or when callers may be feeling down.
Sometimes it helps to just know that someone is listening, and that you don't have to be alone.
If you feel you or someone you know may be at risk or just need someone to listen, call LifeLine Shanghai at 6279 8990.
What to Expect

All of our Lifeline Shanghai Telephone Volunteers undergo a strict selection process and receive comprehensive training and support to provide assistance to others.
Call costs
Calls to LifeLine Shanghai are just the cost of a local call when you're ringing from Shanghai. If you're calling from outside of Shanghai, normal long-distance rates will apply. Additional charges may apply, however, for calls from mobile phones or some land lines. Rates are dependent on the caller's carrier and their contracted rate.

The privacy of our callers is very important. Protecting caller privacy and confidentiality is fundamental to the way LifeLine Shanghai cares for people.
