LifeLine Shanghai Organizational Structure

Board of Directors

Members of the Board of Directors are representative of the expatriate community in Shanghai.

LifeLine Shanghai's Executive Director also serves as an ex-officio member of the Board.

Board Members

Angus Peacock MCIL - Chairman of the Board

Angus has lived in China since 2002 working as a Business Manager in Nanjing, Shanghai, and Zhengzhou. Additionally Angus has travelled extensively throughout China for business and leisure purposes developing a sound understanding of modern Chinese culture. He has also worked primarily in service sectors including professional periods in Canada, Latin America, England, and France. Currently Angus is Director of Coaching at Sport for All. As a qualified linguist, Angus also manages a performance management business called Tiga.

Jerry Joseph, CPA - Treasurer

Gerry is a British Citizen who has spent most of his career working in multicultural environments. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers London, Gerry moved into the consulting field working on various assignments in New York, Istanbul, France, Belgium, and, finally, 5 years in Germany. There he developed a global accounting model within SAP and rolled it out into an Accounting shared service centre for Europe. In 2003 Gerry moved to Hong Kong to build up a project and support organization for internal SAP services for a major multinational pharmaceutical and chemical group. Gerry moved to Shanghai in 2008 to take up a new role as Accounting and Reporting Head for China.

Kim Grabowy

Kim is a Canadian American who moved to Shanghai with her husband in September 2007. She grew up in Canada but since the early 1990’s lived in both Canada and the United States until her recent move to China. Kim earned her Bachelor of Sociology at the University of Ottawa and her Paralegal Degree at De Anza College in San Jose, California. After graduation, Kim concentrated on volunteering with various non-profit organizations, including Sacred Heart Community Services in San Jose, CA acting as court liaison at Elmwood Prison.

Meika (MK) Chin

MK is the most talked about and most recommended midwife in Shanghai. She's currently employed by Shanghai United Family Hospital in Hongqiao and has delivered more expat babies in Shanghai than any other midwife in the city. Additionally, MK has experience working with troubled teens in the Bronx, NY, and currently continues her work with young people by guest teaching health education classes at several international schools in Shanghai.

Peter C. Harris

Peter is the Chairman and CEO of Headland International, a business consultancy firm. In addition to his board position at LifeLine Shanghai, he also sits on the board of BritCham Charity Committee. Peter is from England and has had extensive professional experience in the chemical industry, mainly in finance and investments. He obtained his MA in Chinese Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies at University of London and his MBA from the Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania, USA.

David Atnip

In China since 2003, David is an American lawyer with 20+ years of legal practice experience. Prior to moving to Shanghai, David engaged in the private practice of law in the state of Texas, USA. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Baylor School of Law, and completed a full time MBA degree from the University of Toronto. Along with his childhood in Zimbabwe, he's also an avid traveler who has been to more than 50 countries. This has given him a truly unique international perspective. Currently as managing director, he leads his team at LawInn, a service provider to law firms and in-house legal divisions of commercial enterprises.

Stephanie Cave

Stephanie is an American who has been living in Shanghai for nearly six years. She graduated from Haverford College (Pennsylvania) with a BA in East Asian Studies, and has an EMBA from Rutgers Business School (Shanghai). She previously worked in the finance sector until she went into fashion with her company 52weekhigh. Now she is concentrating her efforts in marketing for a small outfit, and spends her free time cooking, travelling, and training for ultra-marathon races. Stephanie has volunteered for various organizations since she was in high school and is very excited to join the Lifeline family.

Amy Shiu Klibaner

A New York City native, Amy moved to Shanghai with her husband in 2005. After receiving her BA in Classical Archaeology, Amy switched from playing in dirt and rocks to playing with sugar and flour, becoming a formally trained pastry chef and cookbook recipe developer. She later transitioned out of the kitchen into the office as a Senior Account Manager for a food, beverage and lifestyle PR & marketing firm for the last five years before relocating to Shanghai. Amy has done local volunteer work for Baobei Foundation and the SCAA and shares her Shanghai expertise by being an active member of ShanghaiMamas, Shanghai Expat and the Shanghai Dolls communities.

Dr Hu Li Qun - Consultant to the Board

Dr. Hu received a BA in Language and Literature from Fudan University, Shanghai. She then completed a Masters degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University as well as a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, both in Los Angeles, United States. Dr. Hu is a US licensed psychologist with over 14 years of direct clinical service delivery in diverse settings.

LifeLine Shanghai is run by the administrative team which includes (but is not limited to):

Allan McDean - Program Manager

An Australian citizen, Allan has been resident in Shanghai since 1994. With a background in corporate management Allan has been involved with Lifeline Shanghai for the past 7-years, starting as a telephone volunteer and progressing into other various roles within the organization.Allan has now taken on the role and responsibility of our Program Manager..

Kim Grabowy - Youthlink Manager

Along with sitting on the Board of Lifeline, Kim dedicates her full time heading our YouthLink program, which caters to the internationals schools.

Stephanie Cave & Amy Shiu Klibaner - Marketing and Fundraising

Along with their positions on the Board of Lifeline Shanghai, Stephanie and Amy are also responsible for the marketing and the not-so-easy job of raising funds.

Sarah Marie Lowe - Outreach Manager

Sarah comes to us from the USA and has been involved with Lifeline Shanghai since 2009.

Maryanne Von Essen - Volunteer Representative

Maryanne is originally from South Africa and lived in Japan prior to her move to Shanghai. She used to teach pre-school, and volunteered as a counselor to refugees and to prisoners awaiting trial in South Africa. She is very happy to be at Lifeline where she contributes her time helping the international community.
